Adds iPassConnect for BlackBerry smartphones to Mobile Office portfolio; gives customers using smartphones greater mobility choice for accessing enterprise applications REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — September 14th, 2009 — iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a leading provider of enterprise mobility services, today launched the industry's first global enterprise Wi-Fi® client for the popular BlackBerry® platform. With the addition of the iPassConnect Client for BlackBerry, iPass supports the leading smartphones used by large enterprises—including the iPhone, and Windows Mobile- and Symbian-based smartphones. Now iPass Mobile Office corporate customers—many with large departments using Wi-Fi enabled devices—can provide their employees with access to nearly 140,000 hotspots in 83 countries. Telenet, one of the leading providers of media and telecommunications services in Belgium, recently launched a worldwide connectivity service based on its partnership with iPass. iPass saw a 200 percent increase in users of iPass Wi-Fi on handhelds from Q1 2009 to Q2 2009, thanks to the global smartphone market growing by 27 percent year-on-year to 40.9 million units (Gartner 2009). iPass Mobile Office now enables connectivity across platforms that account for more than 80 percent of the global smartphone market. iPass is available for all current and future Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry smartphones, including:
